Hybrid Telco Cloud Transformation

Led a comprehensive analysis services to transform legacy cloud systems into hybrid clouds, combining a private on-premises environment with hyperscaler capabilities. The scope included detailed studies of cloud resources covering NFVi requirements, resource utilisation, migration planning, and optimisations. During the course of the project, we also assessed multi-workload requirements and supported our client in developing RFx requirements to better manage workload onboarding and cloud expansion.

Private Network for Industrial Manufacturing

Advised an industrial manufacturing company on the evolution of private wireless solutions covering factories in several geographies. The engagement started from initial consultation on vision and requirements, and ran through to vendor selection via RFP and proof-of-concept definition, governance and evaluation. The scope of the solution spanned cloud, applications, edge compute, RAN and devices.

Cloud Migration of Telco Call Routing Engine

Advised a Global Operator on the migration of its call routing engine to the public cloud, from initial requirements gathering to High Level Design, Proof of concept, and eventual Data, Application and Operations Tooling migration. The project involved a Proof of concept to gauge performance, high availability and reliability between Azure and AWS as well as a Cloud Consumption model for a 5-year TCO.

Launching National Network Roaming

Advisor & Go to Market consultation in introducing National roaming Coverage in Africa and building partnership with Network vendors, Network providers for introducing 4G/5GSA for delivering enhanced coverage for launching new Market services, connectivity and boost customer experience across MNOs. Deep technical consulting from interoperability’s perceptive, investment required from each party with full responsibility matrix for delivering successful project.

Modernized Call Charging System

Design authority for the digital transformation of African and European Operators moving to a converged charging system across prepaid and postpaid customers, encompassing multiple call scenarios. The solution is now deployed in over 10 separate countries.

Teams Phone Mobile Integration

Lead technical resource in transforming Microsoft Teams Phone Mobile integration from concept to deployment. The scope included initial business modelling, onboarding onto the Microsoft Operator Connect Mobile program, high level design for the interaction with the IMS network (Interfaces, Call flows, Subscriber provisioning) and the out of band communications with the Teams Phone System, proof of concept and eventual deployment.

Regulatory Compliance Consultation

Regulatory compliance recommendations to ensure hybrid cloud adherence to the UK Telecoms Security Act, focusing on Network Oversight Functions and High Availability. Specifically highlighted the need for continuous real-time monitoring and analysis to detect security incidents, automated lifecycle management and high availability through redundant infrastructure, robust disaster recovery capabilities, and a scalable architecture to handle peak loads and unexpected traffic surges. This comprehensive approach ensures a secure, resilient, and highly available platform for telecom operators.

Satellite 5G Strategy and Innovation

Drove 5G NTN strategy portion of a seminal agreement with a leading satellite communications provider to revolutionize satellite networks through adoption of 5G-NTN, hybrid cloud & automation via architecture definition, RFPs and pilots.​

VoLTE/VoWiFi Launch Strategy

Provided a telecommunication focused ISV with a go to market strategy for entry into the mobile market for VoLTE and VoWiFi products. Worked with the ISV to understand their broader product strategy around simplified deployment of VoLTE/VoWiFi services and market place for new service development, building this into a complete story that focused on reducing the complexity of IMS deployment, enabling migration and frequency refarming and providing an open service creation environment for innovation.

Carrier WiFi Service Optimization

Provided a major systems integrator and ISV in the Telecommunications space with advice related to their carrier WiFi solution and how to bring together other facets from the portfolio to support carrier WiFi solutions. This included support for quality of service monitoring to ensure an always best connected experience, targeted advertising, sponsored data services, data analytics as well as cost optimized roaming through least cost routing with WiFi offload.

IPX Launch Strategy

Advised major NEP on market entry strategy into the IPX market. Provided service assessment of key services to offer, created a design for initial service entry and extended services and provided costings for service launch as input to the business plan.

Global IoT Network Design

Provided technical design authority for the design and development of a global narrowband IoT network for a tier 1 global mobile operator. Working closely with 3rd party suppliers and equipment vendors to provide an integrated end to end solution.

M&A due diligence for an operator customer looking to acquire a European tier 1 with LATAM assets. This involved analysis of existing network assets and recommendations for technology consolidation and migration.

Global Managed Voice and VPN Services

Global managed voice network design and development for a tier 1 global enterprise focused network operator. Integration with existing advanced intelligent network services and support for local enterprise network connectivity. The network supported the majority of the top 100 enterprises with VPN and call centre connectivity.
